House of Fun

Don't know about you, but watching Suggs and crew perform on the roof of Buckingham Palace the other night was one of the highlights of my Jubilee weekend! They certainly got my vote for performance of the night!

This weeks number 1 comes from those lovely lads, Madness, with 'House of Fun'. The single took the top spot on 29th May 1982 and stayed there for 2 weeks and surprisingly was the bands only number 1 UK single!

The jaunty video sees a boyish Suggs attempt to buy condoms in a chemist without much success. It was filmed between locations in Camden, Kilburn and a roller coaster at the Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth. According to an interview with Suggs in Q Magazine, the band went round the roller coaster 54 times before the Director was satisfied he'd got what he wanted! It's a great fun video clip so enjoy...

To recreate the video look we have gone for a couple of 80s classics, both cargo print and bomber jackets show up in there so we have a couple of our own below:

Madness are a national treasure, a Brit institution, and they never fail to get everyone dancing! Madness, we salute you!
